Surreal anime off the beaten path
Weird anime break the rules: unusual art styles, layered storytelling and plots where you don't always know what's actually going on. The mix of psychological and mystery turns them into puzzles you keep turning over long after watching – or debating with friends.
This mood is for you if you've already seen a lot and want something new, or if you simply want art over formula. Not everything here will click with you – but that's exactly the appeal.
Our picks
Serial Experiments Lain
